Mylopotas Beach is the most popular beach on Ios, and one of the best in the Greek Islands. It regularly features in polls as one of the “Top 10 Beaches in Europe”. Mylopotas is a Blue Flag beach which is more than 1km long and very wide, with beautiful golden sand and crystal clear clean water.
Mylopotas beach is in the shape of a horseshoe bay with rocks at either end of the beach. It is situated about 2km south of the main village in Ios Greece.

There are many chilled-out beach bars, tavernas, restaurants and small shops to enjoy all the way along the beach.

How to get to Mylopotas:
Buses run to and from the Port, through the main village of Chora to Mylopotas every 15 minutes. It is a short journey of about 10-15 minutes depending on your start point.
Alternatively, you can really enjoy the full panoramic view of Mylopotas Beach by walking down the old donkey trail to the beach from the village. The walk will take about 20 minutes. The views of the beach on the walk are simply breathtaking, and a great spot for taking some of the best pictures of Ios Greece!
